The Skolkovo Foundation plans to increase the total revenue of its residents by 90% compared to the revenue for 2020, which amounted to 162.8 billion rubles. This is stated in the report of the fund. It is planned that the number of residents will increase by 61% by the end of 2024. The report notes that during the period from 2021 to 2024 more than 1 000 companies in the late stages of development will lose the status of the participant in “Skolkovo” due to the expiration of the ten-year period of residence. With their departure, a significant amount of revenue will also drop out, so more than 2,900 new companies in the early stages of development should become Skolkovo residents between 2021 and 2024 to achieve the targets, the fund said. The planned off-budget investments into the projects of “Skolkovo” residents in 2022 should exceed 20 billion rubles, and 25 billion rubles in 2024, “The number of jobs in 2024 will increase up to 100,000”, – noted in the Fund. Last November, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced a reform of development institutions, among them the Skolkovo Foundation. As part of the reform Skolkovo and other institutes were taken over by the state corporation VEB.RF. In April this year, Arkady Dvorkovich, chairman of the Skolkovo board of directors, told Vedomosti that the number of startups in 2020 had increased to 2,758 (in 2019 it was 2,248. – “Vedomosti”). Between 2016 and 2019, the total revenue of the residents grew from 49 billion to 111 billion rubles. – On average, it grew by 35-40% per year. “If we talk about the positive effect for the country’s budget, the personal income tax paid by the project participants alone exceeded RUB 8 billion last year. The total number of jobs, according to preliminary data for 2020, is more than 41,000. Skolkovo residents account for 15% of international patent applications filed by all Russian companies, which indicates a high export potential,” Dvorkovich said.
