“Emily in Paris” is back for a second season of fun escapism on Netflix. Ten new episodes of the Emmy-nominated series premiered on December 22. Netflix plans range from $9 to $18 a month, depending on what video quality you want to stream.
From “Sex and the City” creator Darren Star, “Emily in Paris” follows a young American woman (Lily Collins) who gets a job in Paris managing the social media campaigns of a luxury fashion label. As she struggles to acclimate to life in Paris, she makes a number of cultural faux pas in her love life and career.
The first season of “Emily in Paris” debuted on Netflix in October 2020, to mixed but mostly positive reviews. Both seasons of the comedy-drama show currently carry a respectable “63% Fresh” rating on review-aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. The first season also received two 2021 Emmy nominations, including best comedy series.
While critics praised the show’s escapism and plucky romantic comedy aspects, many took issue with its lack of diversity and its use of French stereotypes. In response to this feedback, Collins says the second season is more focused on “diversity and inclusion.”
Where to watch ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 2
“Emily in Paris” season two is available to watch right now exclusively on Netflix. The new season debuted on December 22 and consists of 10 episodes. All 10 episodes of the show’s first season are also available to stream on Netflix.
If you don’t have a Netflix subscription, you can get access to all of the service’s films, series, and documentaries for just $9 a month. This entry-level plan lets you stream content in standard definition (SD) on one connected device at a time.
To get better quality streaming, we recommend signing up for one of Netflix’s more expensive plans. The standard plan ($14 a month) can stream content in high definition (HD) on two devices at the same time. If you have a 4K TV you can get even better quality for $18 a month, allowing you to stream on up to four devices at the same time in full Ultra HD with high dynamic range (HDR).
