The ranking is based on public data on startups from the commercial register of Estonia.
Startup Estonia has a total of 112 companies in the AdTech and Creative Tech categories. More than 60% of revenues were shared by the top three firms.
First place in the ranking – company Adcash with a turnover of €6.9 million, founded in 2007 by entrepreneur Tomas Podavani. In second place is Motherlink of entrepreneur Alexander Lilic with a turnover of €802.6 thousand during the corresponding period. In third place is online platform PRNEWS.IO, with a turnover of €629 thousand in Q3 2021.
The AdTech and Creative Tech sector covers technologies used in advertising, marketing, media, entertainment and creative industries. Also various types of analytics, monitoring, digital tools and systems used in the context of advertising and marketing.
In total, the Startup Estonia list includes 1,291 startups from 16 sectors.
Startup Estonia is a government initiative that works to nurture the Estonian startup ecosystem.
Any company no older than 10 years old can join the Startup Estonia database, as long as its business is related to technology, it is registered in Estonia, it has the potential for rapid global growth, and it develops and runs an innovative and repeatable business model.

E-residents have created more than 17,000 companies in Estonia. In March 2021, more than 400 new companies were added to the business register. During the last three years e-residents created 20% of all private limited liability companies registered in Estonia.
