Companies that work with clients are being forced to increasingly consider sustainability issues in their operations, said Artashes Sivkov, Deputy Chairman of Rosselkhozbank’s Management Board, at the “Welfare Economy: New Context” conference for Kommersant. He believes that in 20 years, there won’t be a single retail company in Russia that will be able to ignore the environmental agenda. “In 20 years, there won’t be a single retailer … who will be able to sell their products without considering the environmental agenda. Because the level of awareness will grow,” Mr. Sivkov said. “It’s not enough to have a license to operate. Soon everyone will be faced with the need to have social approval to do business in the community,” said the deputy head of Rosselkhozbank. He believes that over time a growing number of environmental companies from various sectors will emerge. Artashes Sivkov gave an example from the banking sector. He believes that soon there will be no physical bank cards because they will be replaced by digital or electronic ones.
