  • “What We Do in the Shadows” is a mockumentary featuring four vampire roommates in Staten Island.
  • The fourth season premieres July 12 on FX; episodes stream on Hulu the next day.
  • Hulu costs $7/month for the ad-supported plan and $13/month for the ad-free plan.

The fourth season of “What We Do in the Shadows” premieres July 12 at 10 p.m. ET on FX. New episodes will stream on Hulu the day after they air on TV.

The mockumentary series is inspired by the 2014 film of the same name. Cameras follow four vampires and their human familiar as they navigate Staten Island and all of the facets of modern life, like using the internet and interacting with neighbors.

The new season picks up one year after the events of the season three finale, which saw the vampires go separate ways. Now, they’re all back on Staten Island and ready for more hijinks, including opening a nightclub, finding true love, and raising a baby.

“What We Do in the Shadows” has an average “98% fresh” rating across all four seasons on review-aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

How to watch ‘What We Do in the Shadows’

You can watch new episodes of “What We Do in the Shadows” on FX beginning July 12. The season four premiere, which features two episodes, will air at 10 p.m. ET.

If you don’t have cable, you can check out new episodes of “What We Do in the Shadows” on Hulu every Wednesday through September 7. The first three seasons of the show are also available on Hulu right now.

Hulu costs $7 a month for ad-supported streaming and $13 a month for ad-free streaming. Both membership plans include access to Hulu’s entire on-demand streaming library, which includes next-day premieres of currently airing network shows.

For more movies and TV shows, consider signing up for the Disney bundle, which gives you ad-supported Hulu, Disney Plus, and ESPN+ for $14 a month. You can also get the bundle with ad-free Hulu for $20 a month. Both packages are $8 less than the combined price of the three individual subscriptions.

Hulu’s app is supported on most major connected devices including smartphones, tablets, streaming media players like Roku or Fire TV, and smart TVs from most brands. For a full list of supported devices, check out Hulu’s website.

Can I watch ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ for free?

You can watch “What We Do in the Shadows” for free if you sign up for a Hulu trial. All new Hulu subscribers get a 30-day free trial before getting charged the monthly price. The trial includes access to Hulu’s entire streaming library.

We recommend signing up for the trial on or around September 7. That way, you’ll be able to watch all of season four after it’s completed.

How many episodes are in ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ season 4?

Season four of ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ has 10 episodes. The first two are set to premiere on July 12, and new ones will follow weekly until September 6.

What time do new episodes of ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ come out?

If you’re watching new episodes of “What We Do in the Shadows” live on FX, they air every Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET. The new episodes then hit Hulu every Wednesday at 3 a.m. ET.

Has ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ been renewed for season 5?

Ahead of the season four premiere, FX renewed “What We Do in the Shadows” for seasons five and six.

Where can I watch the ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ movie?

You can rent “What We Do in the Shadows,” which serves as the inspiration for the TV show, for $4 from Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, and Apple TV.

The film stars and was directed by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. Clement went on to create the FX series using the same mockumentary format. Both actors reprise their film roles in a season one episode of the TV show.
