The escalation in Donbass caused U.S. stock indices to fall.
The Dow Jones Industrial index fell 1.78 percent. Broad market index S & P 500 lost 2.12%. Technology index Nasdaq suffered the most losses, slumping by 2.88%.
Among liquid securities the main declines were fixed in shares of NVIDIA (NVDA), Tesla (TSLA) and Meta Platforms (FB), which fell by 7.56%, 5.09% and 4.08% respectively.
As of 12:00 Moscow time, futures for major equity benchmarks are up 0.33% to 0.45%. Investors are pinning their hopes on a peaceful and diplomatic solution to the current conflict.
