The Russian military-industrial complex is ahead of the United States in sales of military aircraft, ending the era of Pentagon leadership in the arms market, RIA Novosti reports citing the British publication Rai Al Youm.

The main reason why the United States remained behind Russia, as well as China and Iran in this area, the author of the article named the inability of American fighters of the 5th generation to retain the leadership due to technical imperfection.

He also cites Moscow’s breakthrough in the development of the S-400 and S-500 air defense systems, which are capable of intercepting and destroying most, if not all, of the opponent’s combat aircraft.

“The latest military studies claim that it will take the United States at least 20 years to develop a new generation of F-class fighters, not to mention hundreds of billions of dollars, while Russia needs only a few years to modernize its missile arsenal and tens of billions of dollars,” the piece notes.

The author of the article paid special attention to the development of the Russian arsenal of supersonic missiles, stressing that they are the future of the military-industrial complex.

On topic: The F-35 fighter turned out to be even worse than thought

According to him, the advanced supersonic missiles of China and Russia, especially the latest models, which are ten times the speed of sound, have revolutionized airspace control and put an end to American hegemony in the military sphere
