Viewing history will appear in the “My videos” section
The VKontakte team announced the launch of an important update to the VK Video platform.
Platform users will be able to continue watching videos from the same place on different devices, as well as to adjust proposed recommendations by going back to the videos in the history and clearing it.
In addition, in the videos uploaded to the platform, it is now possible to quickly find interesting moments using timecodes, which will make it easier for users to navigate.
In the first stage, viewing history will appear in the “My Videos” section and will work in the web version, as well as iOS and Android apps when authorized through VK ID. In the future, viewing history will also appear for smart TVs with set-top boxes.
When uploading videos to the platform, creators will now be able to divide videos into segments, mark interesting moments on the timeline and add a brief description to each episode using timecodes. When putting the cursor on the segment, the user will see a preview of the episode and a short description.
Recall, the platform “VK Video” combines the video databases of “VKontakte”, “Odnoklassniki” and all products of the company VK (formerly Mail.ru Group).
